Cartoon Chaos

I didn’t plan on creating a running commentary to the Mohammed Cartoons but I was directed to some hilarious editorial cartoons that were drawn in response to the outlash by many exteremist Muslims over the comics.

That Atheiest one is what started me in looking at the other cartoons. They are all hilarious, in my opinion, though I’m sure your milage may vary depending on how easilly offended you are. Interestingly enough 3 of them are by the same Australian guy, Vince O’Farrell. The last one, “A Rose By Any Other Name…” is particularly interesting and raises a nice counterpoint. Editorial Cartoons are an amazingly powerful means of converying a message. They prove the adage “a picture is worth a thousand words.”

  1. It’s like, enough already! Extremists, no matter their cause, their religion, their whatever, are just that, extremists. Extremists, in their arrogance, in their rightousness, often kill others & feel totally justified in doing so. If they didn’t belong to a group that prophesized that rightousness, and it was simply a person acting on their own, that person would be labeled a sociopath. The main features of the sociopath, a person with anitsocial personality disorder: a pervasive patten of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others…and they do not feel remorse for what they have done. Be it the violence supposedly brought about by the cartoons, or the shooting and axing of gay men last week in a club in Massachusetts, or the murdering of doctors working in Planned Parenthood offices, extremists justify their murderous behaviors, usually in the name of their particular god. Simply disgusting as far as I’m concerned.
