EBay My Way
About a week ago I went to the local Gabe’s. Gabe’s is a store that gets overstock or “seconds” and then sells them pretty cheaply. Most of the time the place is full of junk, but, on occasion, there is some really nice high quality stuff that just doesn’t seem to belong there. This past week was one such time. I was browsing through the mens sportswear and found 7 LSU Tigers Baseball Jersey’s. I and mean really nice Jersey’s. What really made them stand out to me though was the fact that they had players names on them. It is very unusual, if not really rare, to find current college clothes that have the players names on them. Schools aren’t allowed to sell them and these Jersey’s had the feel and look of the actual jerseys the players would be given as part of their uniform. The best part of it all was they were for sale for $6. So I bought six of them with the intent of selling them on EBay.
Now, I’ve never bought something just to sell it before so this was my first dabbling in speculative purchasing. Fortunately, I had beginners luck because thinks worked out really well. I sold all six jersey’s for an average price of $30. One sold for $52! My silent goal had been $20 a shirt so reaching $30 was fantastic. Needless to say I went back to Gabes and bought the one I had left behind. It will go on sale tonight. Hopefully, it will have as much interest.

Gabes is Gabriel Brothers on Rte 60 in Huntington. It is next door to an old Foodland (or foodfair). I think Ponderosa is in the parking log.
