My Daughter and My Heart
If you aren’t aware, Shannon just turned five last week. We threw her a party over the weekend and all her friends (including some of her classmates) came. It was pretty cool because it was the first party we had were she really got to invite kids that weren’t the kids of our friends. She seemed to really enjoy the party and having her friends over. For me it was an odd moment to see how much she has already grown and served as a notice that she is already 1/3 of the way to being able to drive. Time goes bay way too fast.
Today I took Shannon on a field trip with her class to see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (a musical). She seemed to really enjoy it, as did most of her class. It was pretty neat getting to take part with her. After dropping her back off at school I had to make my way back to work through all the production vehicles for the upcoming movie “We Are Marshall” starring Matthew McConaughey – it will be released this November. A friend of mine recorded a song that he hopes to get in the movie, the song is also titled “We Are Marshall“. They have done some neat mock building facades downtown to bring the city back into the 70′s. The main theater marquee announces that it is now playing “Kelly’s Heros“.
Yesterday Lisa was in a panic about my health. My cholesterol screening came back and in the past four years my total count has gone up by 40 points. My good cholesterol hasn’t really gone up at all but my bad keeps on ticking up. I ended up going to the doctor and she told me to change my diet (eat less red meat) and she would rescreen me in 3 months.

no real man can enjoy a musical. Tell Shannon to expect a present from us soon. I cant wait to see all of you.

hey Bill. I have (had) terrible HDL/LDL numbers and started taking fish oil about a year ago, it’s really helped (it’s really the only change I made, so I figure it really was the fish oil doing the job). I get mine from VitaCost, about $30 a month for me and Dean together, but it’s good quality with the nasty stuff screened out. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll get the info for you.
