Ahem… It’s been a little while since the last post, but I just found this little gem and I also found that it works fine in WP2.7! I love it precisely because this plugin does nothing fancy – it “just” outputs the HTML to show the thumbnails and link to the pics themselves. So… Here’s a question. Do you think you could add so-called shortcode support? That means, essentially, not having to dive into theme templates or anything, and instead place something like [ picasaweb="param1,param2,param3,param4,etc"]URI-for-RSS[/ picasaweb] in the post / page.

When used in combination with WP Slimbox2 you’d have an unbeatable combination!

I realize it’s been an enormous while since you worked on the plugin, but somehow I feel that your plugin beats the lot of ‘em out there – again, because of the simplified output. Well done!

I just pushed out picasaweb plugin v1.7 – this addresses a fatal error some users were having with activating the plugin. It is now fixed and should work OK for everyone.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.

I am using Wordpress 2.3.1. The error message is “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” The version PHP is PHP5.

What I find also strange is that the name of the plugin in the admin area under ‘Plugins’ is nÃ³t a hyperlink. When I click on the other installed plugins I go to the developpers website.

Ok folks I have just released a new version, 1.5, of the picasaWeb wordpress plugin. I incorporated some of the changes made by Kiro so it now uses lastRSS instead of the Zend framework. This means the plugin should work on PHP 4 installations again. A huge thanks to Kiro for doing the regular expression parsing that lets this happen.

Just download from the normal location http://wp-feedlist.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/picasaWeb/picasaWeb.zip

Then you can delete your old picasaweb install and use this one in it’s place. The syntax for usage is exactly the same as it used to be.
