The New House

The move has happened – well, mostly anyway. This past Sunday a great group of folks, mostly from work (and one family from frisbee) stopped by the old house and helped transfer all of our belongings across town to the new house during what must have been the hottest day in years! It was blistering out.

Everyone trooped on though and before I knew it 90% of our stuff was moved. The day was a great success and we have been sleeping in the new house ever since. The dogs have not. We decided to let them keep sleeping in the old house for a bit till we figure out what were going to do with them. Plus this way we get to sleep in a touch before we (I) go play with the dogs.

I have moved over a few more loads of furniture since Sunday and now all that is left is attic stuff and really heavy furniture. We have contracted a moving company to take the liability of moving the heavy stuff. The attic will be emptied out tomorrow morning before I go to work and then maybe the next day, in the morn, Joe and I can haul it over to the new house.

Once the house is empty then I get to move all the stuff from our storage shed. We need to have the MOAGS (mother of all garage sales) I think in order to lighten our load a bit. Just think we are a family of three and we have over 25 pieces of luggage! Gimme a break!

The new house is great though. Lisa and our friend M. fixed the kitchen up really nicely using all of Lisa’s old antique collectible Coca Cola stuff including a really neat old cooler. The kitchen is all white cabinets so the red stuff really looks nice in there. If I get time, after we are settled in, I will take some pictures of the house and have them on the web for you. It’s a great place!
