Visitors come a’ callin
Last week my dad, step-mother (patty), and youngest brother Chris came to visit for a few days. It was a really nice visit and I’m stoked they were able to swing by. It was cool getting the ol’ grandparents together with their youngest grandchild for the first time. Plus, Shannon got a kick out of seeing Gramma and Grandpa. There are some photos of everyone together in the August 2004 album that I think came out pretty well. I also snuck two new photos of Emily in there that are excellent – her whole face is lit up with a smile!
Another cool part of having them here for the two days was that I had the chance to hit the links with my Dad. He loves to golf but doesn’t really have the time typically to go so I always try to force him out for a round. We went to Lavalette Golf Club which is just outside of Huntington. It was a Monday so the crowd was small and the weather was beautiful. Chris, Dad, and I all went out and it was a really time. Chris has only played about 4 times but he showed some real promise – at least with driving distance and putting accuracy. Unfortunatly his putting power was almost always way way way too much! Regardless of the final score I think he had fun – I know I did.
Finally, in a top of the hat to the time just after Dad and Patty were married Patty made Tapioca pudding. I love tapioca pudding so that was really cool. Back in the day Patty had wanted to start a little “tradition” of making the pudding every thursday. The plan didn’t last for ever but it was nice while it did. This time it wasn’t Thursday when she made it but she made so much she thought it would surely last till Thursday (she made it on Sunday). Well, I didn’t eat any on Wednesday just to make sure some lasted. Thanks for the pudding Patty, it was great.
